Awards & Ceremonies | 3D Mascot
THE BRIEF:
Once again we're working with our friends at Niche Magazine to work on the Niche Business Awards 2022! This year the theme is Back To The Future (or BTTF for short), so we created a variety of animated content for their finalist reveals and awards presentations! Working closely with their design and events team, we created animated electrifying content that would be featured on socials and the night's awards evening.
Our task was to create engaging animated content that represented the theme of BTTF, whilst also celebrating Leicestershire businesses and their achievements. We created two mascots this time round; known as Duke & Martin. They were featured in various imagery and small animations featured in this year's awards ceremony.
THE MASCOT:
The Lead Balloon and Niche Magazine team came together to discuss ideas on the Duke & Martin's designs, something fun but is a nod towards the classic 80s movie 'Back To The Future' (1985). Our team worked on initial concept artwork before refining it down to one design. We then took to our 3D software to sculpt, model, texture and rig the characters and their props; ready for animation!

THE PRE-PRODUCTION:
We created storyboards when planning our animation for the Niche Business Awards. These helped us know what was taking place and where, and these early developments are shared with the client.

THE ANIMATION:
We produced a variation of animations for the Awards evening. This includes an exciting drive transition animation for the finalists reveal, a holding screen and the heads & tails animation.

THE RESULT:
The imagery and animations were featured at the Niche Business Awards 2022, entertaining Leicestershire business owners and entrepreneurs. As always we had an amazing time with the Niche Magazine team again and we can't wait to work alongside them again in the future!
