THE BRIEF:
It's that time of the year again! Lead Balloon Studios worked with the Niche Magazine team to create colourful and exciting animated content for the Niche Business Awards 2023. The theme this year? It's Rio Carnival!
Our task was to create colourful and engaging animated content that represented the theme of Rio Carnival, whilst also celebrating Leicestershire businesses and their achievements.
THE MASCOT:
This year we came up with the concept of a bird character (named Lola by the lovely team at Niche!) to represent the awards ceremony. Our team worked on initial concept artwork before refining it down to a final design. We then took to our 3D software to sculpt, model, texture and rig the character and their props; ready for animation!

THE PRE-PRODUCTION:
We created multiple storyboards when planning our animation for the Niche Business Awards 2023. These boards allow us know what was taking place and where, illustrating what happens in each scene. These early developments are shared with the client.

THE ANIMATION:
We produced a number of colourful and vibrant animations for the Awards evening. This includes a logo intro animation, holding screen animation, heads & tails animation (known as Headdress & Tailfeathers!) and the winner announcement animations.

The semi-finalists announcements event took place at Menphys Hub. It was a wonderful time as business owners from Leicestershire came together to celebrate each others' achievements! These photos were taken by Hitz Rao Photography.

THE RESULT:
The animated videos and rendered imagery were featured at the Niche Business Awards 2023, entertaining Leicestershire business owners and entrepreneurs. We love working with our friends at Niche Magazine and we look forward to what next year brings!
